Documents / Fraud awareness
A familiar name
is not enough.
Scammers can copy a brand, imitate a website and invent account balances. Verify the organisation and the request before sharing information or money.
Why this warning exists
Financial brands can be impersonated through advertisements, messages, cloned domains and telephone calls. This warning describes common patterns; it does not claim that a particular incident involving Avenclaro has been verified. Be cautious when a person’s identity or authority cannot be independently established.
The configured website origin is https://avenclaro.org. Another domain using a similar name is not automatically connected with this website. A copied logo, document or company number can be used without the legitimate organisation’s permission.
Clone websites and unsolicited calls
A clone may reproduce genuine regulatory details while substituting its own phone number or payment destination. Compare the exact legal entity, domain and permitted service with official information. Contact the organisation through independently obtained details rather than the link supplied by the caller.
Do not assume that an advertisement appearing first in a search result has been approved by a financial authority. A secure padlock confirms an encrypted connection to that domain, not the legitimacy of the business behind it.
Requests that should make you stop
- A promised return with no meaningful possibility of loss.
- A payment to a personal wallet to release a withdrawal.
- A request for passwords, current codes or wallet recovery credentials.
- Instructions to install remote-control software to move money.
- Pressure to borrow, conceal a transfer or act before checking documents.
Do not continue merely because a dashboard shows a profit. A fabricated balance is easy to display, and a small initial withdrawal does not prove that a larger future payment will be available.
If you have already acted
Contact your bank, payment provider or account custodian promptly through a verified channel. Ask about protective steps appropriate to the transaction. Revoke suspect access and secure the associated email account, using another trusted device if necessary.
Preserve messages, payment references, destination details and screenshots. Report suspected crime to An Garda Síochána. Do not delete the evidence or send more money to someone who claims the first payment is needed to unlock a refund.
Recovery scams
A second caller may claim to be an investigator, regulator or recovery specialist who can retrieve lost funds for an advance fee. Verify the organisation independently and do not disclose secrets. No website can guarantee recovery of an irreversible transfer.
If someone uses this brand in a suspicious approach, report a safe description to [email protected]. This helps document the concern, but is not a promise of reimbursement or a substitute for contacting the institutions involved.
Keep verification routine
Use bookmarked addresses, review permissions and ask for written explanations. Read Licensing & regulation and Security before starting. If the facts cannot be verified, pause the relationship rather than trying to resolve uncertainty with another payment.
